Like it or not, and whether we believe it or not, Feng Shui works for everyone—either consciously or unconsciously. The term "Feng Shui" directly translates to "wind and water." Far from being a superstitious act, it’s a discipline rooted in Chinese metaphysics, guiding us in understanding and optimizing the energy, or “Qi”, of a space.
In Feng Shui, the energy of a space changes every year. This is measured through the analysis of flying stars and annual afflictions, which reveal how energy shifts across different sectors. For 2025, I’m sharing an overview of the Feng Shui chart, combining these two systems.
Why? Because analyzing flying stars alone can miss critical insights—annual afflictions often modify the energy, and neglecting them can lead to problems.
Let’s explore the auspicious and inauspicious sectors for 2025 and how to best utilize them.
Auspicious Sectors in 2025
The following sectors are generally auspicious, but some require caution for specific activities:
Southeast (SE)
South
East
Southwest (SW)
West
Centre
1. East
The East sector is supported by the prosperous #9 star, making it highly favorable for financial growth. However, it hosts the Annual Three Killings, which means heavy activities, ground-breaking, or activation in this sector are not recommended. Using the space for regular activities is fine, but avoid triggering the energy unnecessarily. If you have a pool or permanent water feature in here, you want to switch it off for one year first.
2. Southeast (SE)
This sector is excellent for attracting nobleman assistance, wisdom, and support. However, it includes the Grand Duke (Tai Sui) sector (142.5°–157.5°). While the space can be used, avoid activating or challenging the Grand Duke (e.g., through construction or ground-breaking).
3. Centre
Previously associated with illness, the Centre sector has transformed with the arrival of Period 9 energy, making it auspicious. However, since we are early in Period 9, it’s best to proceed cautiously. I recommend placing six metal plates to mitigate any lingering illness energy.
Other Auspicious Sectors
South, Southwest, and West are generally auspicious and free of concerns for 2025. These spaces can be used freely for important activities.
Inauspicious Sectors in 2025
1. Northeast (NE)
The NE sector is the most critical to address as it hosts the 5 Yellow star, also known as the "misfortune star." If activated, it can lead to serious health, financial, or relationship issues. Avoid renovations, loud noises, or heavy use of this area to prevent triggering its negative energy. Please deploy this mitigation if this sector falls into areas that are important such as your main door, bedroom and study room.
2. North and Northwest (NW)
These sectors host inauspicious stars, which, if activated, may cause relationship strain, stress, and other challenges. Minimize usage and avoid important activities in these areas. Besides, the year breaker is here.
Practical Tips for Inauspicious Sectors
While avoiding these spaces may not always be practical, you can mitigate their effects by using cures such as metal objects, saltwater remedies, and limiting high-energy activities.
Contrary to popular belief, Feng Shui isn’t about trinkets, figurines, or paintings. These items don’t affect the energy of a space. Instead, real energetic tools—like water, mountains, fire, and human activities—create shifts in energy.
